Downtown
Laurel Street is the heart of San Carlos' downtown, featuring a wonderful mix of restaurants, boutique shops and cafes. It hosts many of the community events and festivals and farmer’s markets. Popular restaurants include Town, Refuge and Pazzo, and the piano bar, Faith & Spirits–a great way to complete an evening. Downtown is the destination for most of the community events.
Community
San Carlos hosts various local events and festivals throughout the year, such as Hometown Days, Art and Wine Faire, Goblin Walk, summer concerts in the park, as well as its seasonal farmer’s markets. The city is also home to the popular holiday decorations destination on Eucalyptus Street and the Hiller Aviation Museum.
Schools
San Carlos School District has some of the best schools on the Peninsula, with several of them consistently ranking near the top in the state, including White Oaks Elementary, Brittan Acres Elementary and Central Middle School. San Carlos is surrounded by picturesque hills, providing stunning views and ample opportunities for outdoor activities, hiking and picnicking. With 14 parks including Burton Park, Eaton Park and Crestview Park, San Carlos offers nearly 150 acres of recreational land to enjoy the outdoors.
Location
San Carlos is bordered by Belmont to the north, Redwood City to the south, and is adjacent to the cities of San Mateo and Belmont. Its prime location provides easy access to major tech hubs and it has its own Caltrain station making it convenient for commuters. With a population of 29,500 and city size around 5.5 square miles.
